CARBON NEUTRAL PATHWAY
Illustration Poster

OVERVIEW:
This project is accompanied by an essay that explores how communities can actively reduce carbon emissions by adopting sustainable behaviors and supporting carbon-free cities, products, and services. The main points are guided by the three balancing pillars of sustainability: People, Planet, and Profit.

Within the People component, there is an emphasized importance of understanding human psychology to encourage environmentally conscious behavior. By educating and promoting accessible, greener options, society can help shift consumer habits toward more sustainable choices. Concepts like “15-minute cities,” where essential services are within walking distance, are highlighted as a means to reduce reliance on cars and lower emissions.

The Planet component focuses on addressing sustainable land use and infrastructure, such as expanding eco-friendly transportation networks that better serve communities. It stresses the importance of extending product lifecycles and utilizing renewable and natural resources in manufacturing processes.

Finally, the Profit component explores how businesses can integrate renewable energy and sustainable technologies into their operations. Environmentally responsible product design and infrastructure planning, such as increased transit options, benefit not only the planet, but also create economic opportunities, including new jobs and industries.

This poster, paired with the essay, presents an all-inclusive brief vision of how design, education, and infrastructure can unite to cultivate a more sustainable and livable future.
